Love Where You Live Assembly

We recently had the most fantastic 'assembly' time at school.  All our children from Nursery to Year 6 took an area of the school gardens to tidy and clear.   In 20 minutes we picked two wheelbarrow loads of apples, cleared our Eco garden, gathered the lavender and dug up the remaining crop of potatoes.  We dead-headed and cut back flowers and plants in the front of the school, unsettled lots of spiders under the low eaves, swept leaves, tidied toys in our Pre-prep playground and planted flowers in our wendy-house window box.  We even collected a large bag of rubbish from the roadway around our school.  It was such great fun and we recommend that every school has a ‘Love Where You Live Assembly’.
