Joe McElderry Attends Speech Day

There was great excitement amongst the girls at Leaden Hall before their Speech Day when news leaked out that X Factor star, Joe McElderry, was their guest of honour!  On the day he was interviewed by two of our Year 6 leavers and afterwards he presented the end of year prizes to the girls.  The girls were spellbound as he told them about his rise to stardom, what he would take with him if stranded on a desert island and what he did in his spare time!  They were thrilled to hear about all the work he did for The Teenage Cancer Trust and, equally, he seemed very impressed with the charity work undertaken by the girls.  Head girl, Issy Davies, told him very coyly, in her vote of thanks that he was, ‘awesome’.  Several Leaden Hall girls managed to have their photos taken with Joe before he succeeded in escaping!
