Undeterred by inclement weather, 22 fathers and their daughters camped out in the gardens of Leaden Hall School in The Cathedral Close while the mummies had a relaxing night off. This event was originally planned for Father’s Day in June but logistics meant that it had to be held after the end of term. The idea was that fathers spend time bonding with their daughters enjoying ‘daddy style activities’. Rain and drizzle did not extinguish the bbqs or dampen their enthusiasm. It would appear that the fathers took the bonding very seriously and this was extended to their fellow fathers! After a very wet night there were further activities in the morning in the form of fishing. One of the fathers reported back; “Excellent, fabulous, brilliant” and that “The highlights included sleeping outside in the tent and toasting marshmallows”!
All had a fabulous time and at the same time they raised over £200 for EVERYMAN, a male cancer charity.
