The Harnham Walking Bus from the Salisbury Tennis Club to Leaden Hall is going strong with 14 – 18 children walking the 0.5-mile to school every day. We also continue on to the Cathedral School. With our new shopping trolleys, funded by the Friends of Leaden Hall, we are no longer buckling under the weight of school bags and like the US postal service, “neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of nights stops these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds”, (although wellies and macs are a must on some days).

We are very keen to keep walking in the autumn and winter and would like to invite any existing or new parent to join us. Our current adult ratios mean that we are around our maximum number for unaccompanied children at the moment but if additional parents would like to join us we could increase the number of children walking. Some of us walk in every day (great exercise for us and our dogs) while others only walk in for one or two morning a week and just drop their children on the other days (a huge time saving as you avoid Salisbury traffic completely.
